Modern Philospher

Thoughtfully structured
And without jest
Speech so measured
Makes a patience test

With words too simple
And perfectly true
They arrive to be heard
As if they were new

Deep carved wrinkles
Defend a furrowed brow
From many thoughts
That are so often foul

Set above a gaze
With such depth
Yet, there is no sign
You have ever wept
